Element has invested in new automotive testing capabilities in Europe, with the addition of an extensive suite of interior emissions testing services at its Deeside, UK laboratory.
While these services were previously offered at Element facilities in the US only, this investment means that the testing can now also be performed for customers in Europe, allowing for greater control over quality, faster turnaround times, and more competitive pricing.
Element’s increased capabilities include testing for organic emissions such as carbonyls, formaldehyde and FOG. Techniques utilised include thermal desorption GCMS, HPLC and photometry. The organic emissions can be sampled using a microchamber, 10 litre bag or directly onto a tube or DNPH cartridge. The test methods are compliant with a wide range of automotive manufacturers’ specifications and are suitable for materials such as leather, artificial leather, plastic and textiles.
The company also has vast experience in VOC background sampling and analysis with easy-to-use samplers, which can be performed by Element, or evacuated canisters can be provided to customers to carry out their own sampling on site.
