Charles Noall
President and CEO

Charles Noall is a British national who joined the management team of Stork Materials Technology (SMT) in 2003 becoming Chief Operating Officer later that year and was subsequently appointed CEO in 2007.

Charles was actively involved in the process to divest SMT from Stork BV and lead the $205 million buyout of Element by 3i and management which completed in December 2010. Charles is a member of the Group’s Board. Charles has led the global expansion of the company through the delivery of strong organic growth and the execution of multiple acquisitions in Europe and the US. Charles also initiated the company’s drive for “World Class Performance” by successfully introducing the Lean Operating Methodology which is today embedded in the company’s daily operations.

Jo Wetz

Jo joined Element as CFO during 2012 but has been a non-executive director of the Group since the original buyout in 2010.

Alongside Charles, Jo is a member of the Group’s Operating committee and is responsible for all the Financial, Tax, Legal and IT activities within the Group. Prior to joining Element, Jo spent 13 years working in a number of large financial services organisations including Deloitte and 3i. During his time at 3i Jo led a number of successful buyouts in the UK and Europe with a particular focus on the global Testing and Inspection market, these included the investments in Inspicio, Inspecta and Element. Jo is a Chartered Accountant and has a degree in Economics from University College London.

Arnout Lijesen
EVP Corporate Development

Arnout Lijesen is a Dutch national and holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. Since joining Element in 2003, Arnout has played a leading role in the definition and execution of the Group’s growth strategy. Next to supporting multiple acquisitions in the US and Europe, Arnout has initiated and supported various improvement initiatives including the Group’s drive for continuous improvement and customer service excellence. Prior to joining Element Arnout worked for Unilever

Group Unichema and the management consultant Arthur D. Little serving a variety of industries.

Jeff Joyce
EVP Human Resources

This is accomplished through the design and implementation of effective HR systems, necessary to attract, motivate, reward and retain outstanding industry talent. Prior to joining Element, Jeff worked for Cummins Engine Group, GE and HB Fuller Group.

Rick Sluiters
EVP Aerospace

Rick joined Element in 2004, originally as a Business Development Manager responsible for integrating newly acquired laboratories into the organisation. He went on to become the General Manager for Element’s laboratories in Los Angeles, Detroit and Amsterdam after which he became a Business Improvement Manager during which time he led several US laboratories through a Lean process transformation.

In 2011 Rick took the position of Vice President of European Operations and formally joined the Element Executive Team. Rick became the Executive Vice President of Aerospace in 2014. Rick is a Dutch national and holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He is highly experienced in Lean Production Systems and is a certified “Six Sigma Black Belt”

Dr. Rod Martin
EVP Oil and Gas

Rod joined Element through its acquisition of Materials Engineering Research Laboratory in 2012 now Element Hitchin.

Following the award of his PhD, Rod was invited to join NASA in Virginia for a two year position as an Exchange Visitor funded by U.S. National Research Council. This then evolved into a Contractor position at NASA Langley initially funded by the U.S. Army. Rod worked on several U.S. Army and NASA programs including supersonic aircraft, rotorcraft and commercial aircraft.

He is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Scientist and holds an MA in Management Studies as well as a PhD in Aerospace Engineering.

Chris LaMothe
Transportation & Industrials

Chris joined Element in 2013 with the purchase of Sherry Laboratories where he served as Chairman and CEO of Sherry Holdings LLC. Prior to acquiring Sherry Labs with his partners, Chris served as the President and COO of Oxford Financial Group Ltd one of the largest private wealth management firms in the USA with over $8 Billion under management and also served as the Chairman and CEO of the Trust Group of Oxford with nearly $2 Billion under management. Previous to Oxford, Chris served as President and CEO of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
