Analysis for Aldehydes and Ketones by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

Method 0011A is a high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method optimized for the determination of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde in aqueous environmental matrices and leachates of solid samples and stack samples collected by Method 0011. When this method is used to analyze unfamiliar sample matrices, compound identification should be supported by at least one additional qualitative technique. A gas chromatography/mass spectrometer (GC/MS) may be used for the qualitative confirmation of results from the target analytes, using the extract produced by this method.
