Acceptance Criteria for Expansion Anchors in Masonry Elements

The purpose of this criteria is to establish requirements for expansion anchors in masonry elements to be recognized in an ICC Evaluation Service, Inc. (ICC-ES), evaluation reports under the 2009 International Building Code® (IBC), 2006 International Building Code® (IBC), the 2009 International Residential Code® (IRC), 2006 International Residential Code® (IRC) and the 1997 Uniform Building Code™ (UBC). Bases of recognition is IBC Section 104.11, IRC Section R104.11 and UBC Section 104.2.8. The reason for the development of this criteria is to provide guidelines for the evaluation of alternative fasteners to those addressed by the code.
