Steel - Charpy Impact Test (U-Notch)

An International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard. Specifies the charpy impact method using U-notch test pieces. Determines the impact strength of steel by breaking by one blow from a swinging pendulum, under conditions defined hereafter, a test piece resting on two supports and determining the energy absorbed.
