Mark Buehler is an experienced expert, principally in the areas of metallography, material evaluation, failure analysis, corrosion, inspection, and nondestructive testing.
Mr. Buehler joined Metallurgical Consultants, Inc. in 1969, a graduate of Rice University. He was formerly president of Metallurgical Consultants, Inc. before its sale in 2006, when it was acquired by Element.
For pipeline project work, he has prepared and reviewed specifications, and represented clients in pipe mills in the United States, Europe, Japan, South America and Israel. In recent years, Mr. Buehler has managed the Element consulting business in Houston, which is principally involved in failure analysis for a broad range of companies, both users, manufacturers and distributors of equipment. He has also been involved as a consultant on specialized projects such as the New Doha International Airport, Qatar (now the Hamad International Airport), and liquefied natural gas plants in the Middle East, Africa and Australia.
His metallurgical knowledge and experience have been the foundation for the preparation of specialized technical training sessions for clients. Mr. Buehler has been accepted in state and federal courts in the USA as an expert, and has also participated in court – or government – directed inquiries in Bolivia and Ivory Coast (Côte d’Ivoire).
