Alison is a recognized expert in the field of failure analysis for parts used in the automotive industry. She is an expert at interpreting fracture surfaces and conducting analyses to satisfy customer requests and requirements.
Alison worked as a metallurgist at the Technical University of Dortmund, in Germany where she became an expert in scanning electron microscopy (SEM). She uses her expertise of the SEM with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) capabilities daily at Element for particle and contamination analyses as well as fractography. Alison manages and conducts failure analysis projects for automotive part manufacturers and suppliers, being an expert in metals including steel, aluminum and other alloys.
