In real world use, products are often exposed to liquids or chemicals that may be harmful to the product.  A number of failures can occur when a product is exposed to a harmful fluid: corrosion, loss of adhesion, separation, seal failures, insulation failure, cracking, paint removal, melting, etc. can occur when a product is exposed to fluids/chemicals.

Often the exposure to fluids is temporary, such as in a case of a chemical spill. The exposure can be defined as a “soak” or a “wetted” or “brushed on” condition with the fluid/chemical. Many of these fluid contamination tests are conducted in controlled, elevated temperature humidity conditions (Environmental Chambers) with common exposures of 24-96 hours. Element can help suggest the best test specification for your product.

Our inventory of fluids is kept up-to-date with each airframe/airline specific fluids and we can safely perform this test at elevated temperatures. Our Engineers and Technicians can perform the required ‘Operational Checks’ during this multi-day test which can save you travel time and associated costs.
