Nick Clifford

Nick has over twenty year’s experience as a timber consultant with a Client list that includes architects, engineers, local government, BNFL, the HSE, main contractors, manufacturers, retailers, housing associations and many more. His work in recent years had focused more on site analysis of cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glulam mass timber structures, contributing to industry best practice guidance site moisture and decay analysis. He has carried out many thousands of site moisture and decay analysis tests on CLT sites across the UK and is among the foremost UK experts on the subject of achieving durability with mass timber

Chris has 30 years of experience in fire testing. Specializing in Reaction to Fire testing, Chris has a broad knowledge of the tests associated with construction, rail and marine testing. Chris’ current responsibilities are primarily focused on technical leadership and governance with a significant concentration on the technical development of the Reaction to Fire team and investment in new apparatus.
