AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS – December 16, 2013 –  Official ceremonies have marked the formal rebranding of Sherry Laboratories under the Element Materials Technology name, a significant milestone in Element’s path to becoming the global leader in materials testing, particularly for the Aerospace and Defense and Oil & Gas sectors.

Acquired by Element in March, Sherry, headquartered in Daleville, IN, added nearly 300 specialized staff and over 10 facilities to Element’s global platform of laboratories, creating America’s largest dedicated materials testing company.

Operating as Element, Sherry Laboratories will continue to provide a broad range of testing services to the Aerospace and Defense, Oil & Gas, Transportation and Power Generation industries as well as to the Environmental, Microbiological & Food and Petrochemical sectors. Clients have already been benefiting from the support that Element’s commitment to sustained investment, international platform of facilities and Engaged Experts have brought, with extensive knowledge and proprietary methodologies shared by staff. Additionally, significant capital expenditures have allowed Sherry to further expand its equipment base and capabilities, carrying out improvement projects at its three largest laboratories at Daleville, IN, Broken Arrow, OK, and Lafayette, LA.

Charles Noall, President and CEO at Element, says: “It is with great pleasure that we can officially welcome Sherry into the Element network. We have already seen the hugely positive impact the acquisition has had for the company, both financially and in terms of the experience and knowledge that is being shared by our 1,400 Engaged Experts.

“These ceremonies and celebrations mark the culmination of months of hard work by the dedicated transition team, which has carried out a large-scale integration project to seamlessly implement a new IT infrastructure and integrate Element’s various best practice policies, procedures and systems. This has gone incredibly smoothly, which I believe is a direct result of the natural cultural fit between Sherry and Element. We anticipate further benefits and enhanced services for customers as we continue to work together even more closely under a unified Element brand, which will no doubt assist us in our stated aim to become the recognized market leader for materials testing,” he concludes.

A full week of celebrations have been held leading up to the day of the rebrand, during which both Element management and Sherry staff shared in ceremonies held across several laboratories. Key people involved in the successful integration were recognized with awards and all staff received official welcome packages.
