Spindle Coupled Multi-Axis Simulation Testing

Element was one of the first independent laboratories to acquire spindle-coupled multi-axis simulators outside of the major OEM's and tier 1 suppliers. As a result, our levels of experience in this specialist area within the Automotive and Transportation sector is unsurpassed.

These simulators are used primarily for evaluating full vehicle and light truck systems (frame, suspension and body) or partial vehicle systems (front/rear suspension and suspension-to-frame interface) via simulation of proving ground measured responses, random/sine inputs or generic drive-file responses.

Our Spindle coupled multi-axis simulation testing capabilities include:

  • MTS 329 light truck (LT) and passenger car (PC) simulators
  • 12,000 GVW (LT) maximum rating and 8,000 GVW (PC) maximum rating
  • 17 real-time simulation inputs
  • MTS RPCIII and RPC PRO software
  • LabVIEW software controlled (customised to customer requirements)

Tire Coupled Environmental Four-Post Simulation Testing

Element has several tire-coupled four post simulators that are capable of supporting a variety of vehicle types. The environmental 4-post road simulator is rated for vehicle classifications up to and including light trucks (up to approximately 11,000 lb. GVW). The ambient tire-coupled simulators are capable of supporting multiple axles and vehicle classifications up to Class 8 (50,000+ GVW). Our tire coupled environmental four-post simulation testing capabilities include:

  • Real-time simulated vertical inputs
  • Environmental (-40 deg. F to 180 deg. F,10% - 95% relative humidity, simulated solar loading with sound treatment)
  • MTS RPCIII and RPC PRO software
