Element offers Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT – PCR), a rapid test method to identify the presence of pathogens in food, water, and other environmental samples, helping food and water business operators prevent contaminated products from reaching customers and ensure compliance with local regulations.

The ability to rapidly detect viable bacterial pathogens in manufacturing environments, ingredients, or finished products is crucial for public health and safety reasons. The conventional test method used for pathogenic organisms’ detection is very time-consuming, laborious, and produces slow results.

Element’s Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT – PCR) testing services

Our ISO/IEC 17025 accredited environmental laboratories in the Middle East and the United States provide validated food and water detection solutions for Legionella, Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and Enterovirus with rapid, accurate, and cost-effective results.

Our services include:

  • Detection of Legionella species-specific DNA in water
  • Detection of Giardia intestinalis specific RNA in water
  • Detection of Cryptosporidium specific RNA in water
  • Detection of Enterovirus specific RNA in water

Element’s microbiologists extract DNA or RNA from the sample subjected to amplification in a PCR instrument and the instrument detects the amplified target DNA in real-time. The test usually takes 4-5 hours with the standard turnaround of 2 working days. We collect clients’ samples at our Doha laboratory, but we can also arrange a local sample pick-up on request.
