LECO analysis is a reliable method for determining the concentration of Carbon, Sulfur, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Hydrogen in a metallic sample. 

LECO analysis measures the infrared absorption of combustion gases from a sample to accurately determine the presence and concentration of these elements. LECO converts the elements from a metallic sample into its oxidized form by utilizing either the gas fusion method (Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and Oxygen) or the combustion method (Carbon and Sulfur).

These elements are of particular interest to those in the metal manufacturing industries, as variables within metal processing can cause extreme changes in material composition and properties. Because of its accuracy and low detection limits, LECO analysis is often utilized as a process verification tool to help ensure that the proper level of these elements are present in metallic samples after various manufacturing stages.
