LONDON, UK – June 6, 2016 – Element Materials Technology has completed further investments at its leading Aerospace materials testing laboratory in Cincinnati, OH to significantly enhance its stress rupture testing capacity. Due to the increased capacity in throughput testing that the investment delivers, Element’s clients will be able to benefit from significant reduction in lead times for these services.

The laboratory’s new stress rupture testing capabilities support those Aerospace Primes and their supply chain partners involved in the development and manufacture of aeroengines, delivering high temperature tests for both metal and composite materials.

Rick Sluiters, Element’s Executive Vice President, Aerospace comments: “The completion of this new investment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to becoming the best and most trusted testing partner in the Aerospace sector. We remain focused on continual improvement and operational excellence, so by enhancing capacity in stress rupture testing, aeroengine project times can be reduced through the provision of smarter and more flexible services.”

Element Cincinnati’s stress and creep rupture capabilities provide manufacturers with data about the performance of their products. The location can now test to high loads and temperatures: up to a 10,000 lb tension/compression load capacity; and to 2000F in a split tube furnace. The creep testing service is available with dual averaging digital extensometry, while stress rupture testing is available with a single or multistep option at standard or custom intervals, and any type of cyclic load form.

Element’s Cincinnati, OH, facility is one of the largest independent materials testing and product qualification testing (PQT) service facilities in the US. The 62,000 square ft specialist test center hosts three of Element’s Global Centers of Technical Excellence, delivering critical testing services to both the Aerospace and Medical Device sectors.
