Element has acquired EnviroDat, an industry leading UKAS and MCERTS accredited environmental testing provider. The services of the Reading-based company will complement the range of the Energy & Environmental business unit in the UK.

Founded in 2003, EnviroDat’s 10-strong team of experts specialise in air quality monitoring for environmental and occupational hygiene applications, bringing with them a wealth of industry knowledge, technical excellence and informed and impartial advice. They are recognised for their particular expertise in engine emissions, fuel quality and siloxane analysis.

“I am excited to welcome our new colleagues to the business.”, says Sam Fisher, Division Director Environmental Europe at Element. “Element’s existing network of environmental laboratories already boast a proud track record of high-level air quality monitoring expertise, positioning us at the forefront of the industry. This acquisition confirms that our environmental testing capabilities are a priority in the future of our long-term growth.”

Bruce Kester, Managing Director at EnviroDat said: “Over the years EnviroDat have attracted and employed excellent, committed and highly professional staff who are the core of our business. Element mirror our approach with regard to their staff, client partnership, integrity and quality of work. As with EnviroDat, our new colleagues are extremely friendly, approachable and professional and some have even been in the stack testing business for as long as I have.”

With EnviroDat’s focus on landfill, biogas and sewage sectors, the acquired business operates in a distinct part of the existing emissions market to Element. Headquartered in Reading, with close links to the University of Reading and the Thames Valley Science Park, EnviroDat improves our management strength and expertise in Southern England. These two key enhancements will give customers improved access to air quality and emissions target compliance expertise, helping them achieve regulatory compliance efficiently.

The testing services offered by EnviroDat complement the stack emissions testing, environmental inspection, and consultancy services currently offered by Element, offering great revenue generating opportunities and the expansion of capabilities. This addition to the Environmental Europe business and increased presence in the stack emissions testing market supports our environmental strategy to be a full-service provider in this sector.
