About Element Deeside
Element Deeside is an Environmental Testing laboratory serving a wide range of clients from the contaminated land, hydrocarbon, industrial, mining and waste sectors.
The Deeside laboratory was first established in 2007 as a specialist petroleum forensics laboratory and has subsequently expanded to offer a wide range of analysis on soils, waters, effluents, leachates, wastes, sediments, products, gases, vapors, ambient air and stack emission samples. Analysis of VOCs on automotive and consumer products is also undertaken.
Laboratory Capabilities and Services
Element Deeside offers a wide range of standard routine analysis including: hydrocarbons, VOCs, SVOCs, PAHs, PCBs, Dioxins & Furans, PCBs, Pesticides, PFAS, metals, COD, BOD, anions, cations, waste characterization suites, and asbestos.
In addition, more specialist assessments are undertaken such as hydrocarbon environmental forensics, bioaccessibility testing (e.g. BARGE, FOREhST), monolithic leachability testing and bench scale remediation trials.
Deeside is a Centre of Excellence for the analysis of gases, vapors and ambient air. Sampling equipment includes evacuated (Summa type) inert Silonite coated canisters, BottleVacs and thermal desorption tubes (passive or pumped) and a wide range of analytes are offered, including ultra-low VOCs.
The laboratory is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) under the ISO 17025:2017 standard “General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories” and under the Environment Agency Monitoring Certification Scheme (MCERTS). The accreditation is recognized internationally under ILAC.
