Element is a leading provider of spray polyurethane foam testing services to the Spray Polyurethane Foam industry in both Canada and the US, providing a practical method of assuring customers, architects and inspectors that the installed product complies with all of the requirements of the relevant building codes and national standards when applied in the field.

As a site-manufactured product, the application of spray-applied polyurethane foam is unable to benefit from the controlled environment of a manufacturing plant and the rigorous quality checks that many products undergo, before making it to their end use. It is therefore vital for the performance of spray polyurethane foam to be tested and assessed in the field.

There are many factors that affect the quality of an applied Spray Polyurethane Foam product:

  • Site Conditions (wind, temperature etc.)
  • Substrates (dirt/grease, too hot/cold)
  • Applicator knowledge and experience
  • Equipment malfunction
  • Chemical handling and storage

In order to be applied in the field, the material itself must undergo testing in the lab. Element is highly experienced in assessing the compliance of any Spray Polyurethane Foam system to North American standards as referenced by both the Canadian and American Building Codes, or for listing by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CMMC), to verify that the manufacturer is producing a high quality product.
