AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS – July 8, 2014 – Element Materials Technology’s laboratory in Glendale, CA, has gained approval from Airbus to conduct a range of flammability testing on materials and components for the leading Aerospace Prime. Approval follows a stringent audit of the laboratory’s technical capabilities, its equipment and the quality of its results.

This latest approval means that Element can provide both Airbus and its supply chain partners with a suite of tests designed to evaluate and qualify the performance of Aerospace materials and components to fire. These include AITM 2.0005, 2.0003, 2.0004, 2.0005 and 2.0038.  Element has also been authorized to proceed with testing per AITM 2.0006, 2.0007, 2.0008 and 3.0005 short-term, while a range of other flammability tests undergo technical qualification.

Rick Sluiters, Element’s EVP, Aerospace, said: “Receiving this approval is a fantastic achievement by the team and is the direct result of sustained investment in our capabilities, which was specifically led by this particular client’s requirements

“This accreditation adds to the laboratory’s extensive list of approvals for the Aerospace sector, including the highly demanding accreditation from Nadcap, and will enable Airbus and manufacturers across its supply chain to benefit from Element’s extensive expertise,” Sluiters concluded.

Element’s laboratory in Glendale, CA, formerly Delsen Testing Laboratories before its acquisition in 2013, specializes in the mechanical, electrical, and flammability testing of engineering composites and is both Nadcap-approved and A2LA accredited to ISO/IEC 17025.
