AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS – April 22, 2013 – Element Materials Technology announces the relocation and upgrade of the company’s Amsterdam laboratory in a move that will double capacity and allow for dramatically increased production and sample rates.
The decision is part of a considerable investment by Element in the company’s hometown to meet customer demand, with the facility also receiving new and upgraded equipment as part of its continued strategic growth in the corrosion and coating testing for the Oil & Gas sector.
Rick Sluiters, VP, Europe Operations at Element, says: “The relocation and upgrade of our Amsterdam facility has a number of significant advantages. Our new building has an improved layout to allow for faster turnaround times and it is also easier to access, meaning it can manage larger sample sizes.
“The new laboratory will also allow for improved project management, allowing us to better meet customer needs, and it has been designed according to the highest safety, health, environmental and quality standards.”
Charles Noall, President and CEO at Element, says: “Element is continuing its programme of ongoing investment in capabilities and facilities across Europe and the USA. Amsterdam is the company’s home and demand for the facility’s services has grown dramatically across the Oil & Gas sector as well as in Aerospace & Defense, Power Generation and Transport industries. The new laboratory sets an industry benchmark for equipment and services in the fields of materials testing, failure analysis and product qualification testing.”
The investment in Element Amsterdam also follows a number of other significant acquisitions by Element in the last fifteen months, including Sherry Laboratories, Delsen Testing Laboratories, MERL, MAR-TEST, and Detroit Testing Laboratories.
