Element Materials Technology Secures TANAP Contract Win
LONDON, UK – November 27, 2015 – Element Materials Technology has further demonstrated its position as the testing partner of choice and provider of leading-edge capability in Fracture Mechanics Testing following a significant new contract win on the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project in Turkey.
TANAP will run from Azerbaijan through Georgia and Turkey into Europe and will be a central part of the new Southern Gas Corridor, which will connect the giant Shah Deniz gas field in Azerbaijan to Europe. It is set to deliver 16 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year from 2018, rising to an eventual annual capacity of 31 billion cubic meters by 2026 and is scheduled to be completed in 2018.
In its role on the project, Element will partner Turkish contractors Tekfen Holding and Fernas Group across multiple “lots” on the pipeline. Under the terms of the contract, Element will supply a comprehensive range of Fracture Mechanics and Engineering Critical Assessment (ECA) services, as well as Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) Validation and Coating Qualification Testing.
A combination of Element’s credibility in the Oil & Gas sector for providing industry-leading Fracture Mechanics expertise, together with its competitive on-time delivery (OTD) and turnaround times that were key to Element securing this contract.
