LONDON, UK – January 16, 2017 – Element Materials Technology has today announced that it has entered into a binding agreement to purchase TEAMS (Testing and Engineering of Aeronautical Materials and Structures) S.L. in Seville, Spain further strengthening its position in the European Aerospace materials testing sector.

A spin-off of the University of Seville, TEAMS S.L. is a Nadcap accredited, specialist provider of Destructive and Non Destructive materials and component testing services. Located at the Aerospace Technology Park of Andalusia, Aerópolis, in the epicentre of the Andalusian aerospace industry, TEAMS is one of the few laboratories in Europe with the capacity and approval to carry out testing of major components for the aerospace sector and is a Tier 1 supplier to Airbus.

In acquiring TEAMS S.L., our headcount will increase to over 2,000 Engaged Experts and it will take our number of laboratories to 61, ensuring that we are well positioned to achieve our goal of becoming the world’s most trusted testing partner to the Aerospace primes and their supply chain partners”.

TEAMS provides a comprehensive range of destructive and non-destructive materials testing services; engineering advisory services; structural testing services and vibration testing services for both metals and a wide variety of advanced materials to the Aerospace, Space, Railway, Energy and Naval sectors. They hold a Nadcap accreditation for Destructive Testing, Non Metallics Testing & Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).

The transaction is expected to be concluded by the end of March 2017.
