London, UK – November 7, 2018 – Element Materials Technology (Element) has today announced that it has joined the Amazon Packaging Support and Supplier Network (APASS), a network of laboratories that test and certify products without requiring additional testing by Amazon.
Element is now certified to work with vendors and shipping companies across North America to ensure that the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) Chapter 6 Amazon packaging requirements are met, helping our customers to minimize shipping damage and reduce costs in the process.
With ISTA certified laboratories in Colorado, Oregon, Minnesota and Ontario, Element ensures compliance by providing a range of test methods including: compression; drop, shock and impact; environmental simulation; tape adhesion; and vibration testing.
Rick Sluiters, EVP Aerospace commented: ‘’Last year over five billion products were shipped via Amazon’s Prime service alone. Adding that to include all of its other shipments and it’s clear why Amazon packaging requirements have become such an important part of container and package testing.
Joining APASS allows us to certify that our customers meet their packaging requirements whilst ensuring that their products are properly and efficiently packaged and arrive damage-free to their intended destination – saving them time and money.’’
Element offers a full suite of container and package testing services including: ISTA; plastic container; durability and package inspection; shipping simulation; medical package; climatic and environmental simulation; and customized package testing programs.
Element is one of the world’s leading independent providers of materials and product qualification testing, inspection and certification services to the global Aerospace; Transportation & Industrials; Fire & Building Products; and Oil & Gas and Infrastructure sectors, where failure in service is simply not an option.
We exist to help our customers to make certain that the materials, products and systems that they make are safe, quality, compliant and ultimately fit for purpose, leveraging 200 years of testing experience and our global testing capabilities.
