Experience
Dragos Lostun is Manager, E&L & Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Element Toronto. Beginning as LC-MS analyst in 2019, moved into a Team Leader role overseeing a team of six chemists conducting E&L testing of client samples to ISO 10993 and other applicable standards in 2021, he advanced to his current management role in 2023, taking on broader responsibility for the QC team, audit readiness, personnel management, change controls, and LIMS-based documentation and reporting. He also manages Health Canada licence applications for controlled substance activities on behalf of the laboratory.
Prior to joining Element, Dragos held QC and analytical chemistry roles at Apotex Inc. and Alpha Healthcare in Toronto, gaining experience in pharmaceutical process validation, GMP and GDP compliance, HPLC and GC method validation and transfer, and a broad range of analytical techniques including FT-IR, Karl Fisher, UV/VIS, and dissolution testing. His early career included laboratory supervision and teaching assistant roles at York University, where he also conducted research in mass spectrometry that resulted in two peer-reviewed publications in analytical chemistry journals.
