About Element Hartford Laboratory
Element Hartford, formerly known as Metals Testing Company, was acquired by Element in 2017. Located in South Windsor, Connecticut, the laboratory brings decades of experience supporting aerospace and energy programs, with a strong reputation for technical excellence and customer trust.
The laboratory is a Nadcap accredited special processor, primarily servicing the aerospace critical rotating parts industry. Capabilities include nondestructive testing (NDT) and related chemical processing.
NDT inspection services include fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), and immersion ultrasonic testing (IUT). The facility features advanced IUT systems utilizing modern, high-precision technology to meet demanding inspection requirements for large and complex components. Chemical processing includes chemical etch, anodic etch, blue etch anodize (BEA), nital etch, swab etch, pre-pen etch, grain flow detection etch, and chem milling. Element Hartford's signature processes are BEA and complex contour following UT C-Scans.
Backed by Element's global network, the Hartford lab delivers reliable results, responsive turnaround times, and consistent compliance, helping customers ensure safety, performance, and regulatory confidence in critical applications.
