About Element Hartford
Element Hartford was formerly known as 'Metals Testing Company', and was acquired by Element in 2017. The labortatory is a Nadcap accredited special processor, primarily servicing the aerospace critical rotating parts industry. The laboratory's capabilities include nondestructive testing (NDT) and related chemical processing.
NDT inspection services include fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), and ultrasonic testing (UT). Chemical processing includes chemical etch, anodic etch, blue etch anodize (BEA), nital etch, swab etch, pre-pen etch, grain flow detection etch, and chem milling. Element Hartford’s signature processes are BEA and complex contour following UT C-Scans.
Element Hartford provides services to a range of aerospace Primes and their supplier networks, including Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, Rolls-Royce, Snecma, Honeywell, UTAS and Lockheed Martin Sikorsky.
Find out about the range of NDT services Element uses to evaluate the properties of a material, parts, products, welds, or systems without materially affecting the integrity of the items being tested.
Magnetic Particle Inspection
Find out more about magnetic particle inspection, sometimes called MT, MPI, or mag particle, a nondestructive test method used to check for surface and sub-surface discontinuities and defects.
Liquid Penetrant Inspection Services
Find out more about liquid penetrant testing, one of the most reliable, efficient, and cost-effective nondestructive methods for detecting surface flaws in non-porous metals.
Find out more about how etching can help reveal hidden flaws or defects in a part or component before submitting the sample to traditional destructive or nondestructive examination, metallography, microscopy, or other analytical technique.
