LONDON, UK – July 27, 2015 – Element Materials Technology has moved closer to the completion of its newly expanded Cincinnati, OH facility with the commencement of new machine shop operations at the 62,000 square foot former Accutek site, ahead of its scheduled opening in November 2015.

Element Cincinnati is the Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) Center of Technical Excellence within the Element Group and is both Nadcap and ISO accredited, as well as having an impressive range of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) approvals.

The investment at the location, one of the largest independent materials testing and product qualification testing (PQT) service facilities in the US, will double its capacity in CMC testing and significantly increase its utilization across the facility’s materials testing and PQT operations. Element Cincinnati also benefits from newly improved environmental controls for tests, surpassing current industry standards in order to deliver on the challenging needs of key clients.

Rick Sluiters, Element’s Executive Vice President, Aerospace, comments: “Element Cincinnati is already a leading location for the testing of CMCs within the Aerospace sector. We are delighted with the developments in the incorporation of our three existing sites in to one “super-lab”. During this process we have worked closely with a number of industry Primes to identify the requirements within the industry for emerging CMC capabilities. Through this latest strategic investment and our ongoing buy-and-build strategy, we have made excellent progress towards achieving our objective of becoming the best and most trusted testing partner in the Aerospace sector.

“Element Cincinnati’s new facility allows all of our industry partners to access leading capabilities in CMC, from research and development (R&D) right through to production stages. We have also developed enhanced processes to ensure that client IP generated by our innovative testing methods is incredibly secure, a key feature during R&D testing phases. Through careful project management, the investments at Cincinnati have been delivered without any disruption to our clients and we are excited by the rapidly approaching completion date later this year.”
