London, UK – 7 August, 2017 – Element Materials Technology’s world leading CMC Center of Excellence located in Cincinnati has developed a customized process for testing Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) at temperatures over 2700˚F, delivering services at the leading-edge of the aerospace sector.

This innovative technical capability is specifically designed to support all of the Aerospace Primes and their supply chain partners in the development and manufacturing of current and next generation aero engines that need to operate at exceedingly higher temperatures and incorporate CMCs as part of the engines components.

To support this innovative testing process, Element has invested in new furnace technology, alongside developing a range of instrumentation that can withstand temperatures above 2700˚F, including new high temperature extensometers and new methods for accurate temperature measurement.

Rick Sluiters, EVP for Aerospace commented: ‘’Element recognized the potential of CMCs to transform the industry at a very early stage and hence we have made considerable investments over the years in developing the knowledge and capabilities required to offer an unrivaled suite of CMC tests to our Aerospace clients. Our world-leading technical expertise in CMC testing allows us to act as a strategic partner to the Aerospace Primes and OEMs that are working at the forefront of the sector.’’
