Element Plano Expands Capabilities with New Incline Impact Machine

Element Materials Technology has expanded its testing capabilities in Plano, Texas, USA, with the addition of a new Incline Impact Test Machine. The investment enhances the site’s Container and Package Testing services, enabling the team to assess the durability of packaging and palletized loads more comprehensively. It also supports Element Plano’s continued growth by broadening its package testing offering and strengthening its ability to compete for new business.

The Incline Impact Test Machine enables the Element Plano team to conduct reliable transportation and distribution testing on pallet-sized products and other heavy units in accordance with ASTM D4169-16. It simulates the sudden stops, shifts, and impacts packages may experience during transit. With the ability to test products weighing up to 6,000 lbs. at speeds of up to 7.3 feet per second, the machine offers a more consistent and efficient alternative to manual competitor testing methods, which can result in variations in setup and velocity readings.

Brian Carr, Environmental Department Manager at Element Plano, said: “The Incline Impact Test Stand gives packaging suppliers greater confidence that their units can withstand shifting loads and sudden stops during transport.”

Element Plano is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited and can test to ISTA standards. It supports the aerospace, defense, telecommunications, commercial electronics, medical, automotive, and wireless industries through comprehensive EMC/EMI, wireless, product safety, NEBS, dynamics, and environmental testing services. The addition of the new Incline Impact Machine further enhances Element Plano’s ability to support manufacturers at every stage of their testing journey.
