Joe is a building materials specialist with 40+ years of experience in plastics, composites, elastomers, and building systems testing, certification, and product development.
Experience
Joe brings more than four decades of experience in materials engineering, building products, and testing programs. His career spans technical leadership roles in product development, polymer materials testing, composites engineering, and building code evaluation. At Element Oakville, Joe began as Technical Manager for Building Products and Systems and now serves as Technical Advisor, supporting customer cooperation, technical guidance, and test program development.
Career Highlights
- 1978 – Graduated with a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Toronto
- 1978 – Joined Ontario Research Foundation as testing lead for polymers, plastics, adhesives, and coatings
- 1981 – Transitioned into Technical Sales for global polymer additives supplier
- 2000 – Founded a technical services company focused on testing and product development of plastics and composites
- 2006 – Served as Technical Director for an advanced composite flooring developer in transport applications
- 2012 – Joined top‑three TIC company as Project Engineer for building code–compliant materials and systems
- 2021 – Joined Element as Technical Manager for Building Products and Systems
- Later promoted to Technical Advisor at Element Oakville
