Russell Shepherd
Russ is a seasoned electronics and PCB expert with extensive experience in manufacturing, testing, specification development, and global industry training, now serving as Technical Director at Element Anaheim.
Experience
Russell Shepherd has more than 40 years of experience in the electronics and printed circuit board industry. He began his career in Southern California as a Quality Inspector for two PCB manufacturers before moving into laboratory leadership roles. Russ spent nearly three decades as Lab Manager at Microtek Laboratories, helping advance PCB reliability testing, coating evaluations, and compliance with industry specifications.
He joined NTS (now Element) in 2015 as the General Manager of the Anaheim facility, where he oversaw operations, laboratory performance, and customer programs. In 2025, Russ transitioned to the role of Technical Director – Electronics. His expertise includes testing, supplier surveillance, consulting, litigation support, and training. Russ has also delivered IPC industry training in five countries and remains deeply involved in IPC standards development committees.
