Greg Adamson

Experience

As Business Development Director for Element's environmental testing business, Greg leads the commercial growth strategy across key sectors including environmental consultancy, infrastructure, utilities, and construction. Based at Element's flagship Deeside laboratory, he works closely with clients to develop testing solutions that support regulatory compliance, risk management, and sustainable development objectives.

Greg is responsible for driving new business opportunities, strengthening strategic client relationships, and identifying emerging market opportunities, including PFAS, contaminated land, water quality, and environmental monitoring services. He works across technical, operational, and commercial teams to ensure clients receive high-quality service, innovative solutions, and maximum value from Element's extensive laboratory capabilities.

With over two decades of experience in the environmental and geotechnical sectors, having previously served as UK & Ireland Environmental Sales Manager in his previous company, where he managed a team of Business Development and Account Managers across Contaminated Land, Potable Water, and Environmental Waters. 

Earlier in his career, he worked as a practising Engineering Geologist and Geotechnical Department Manager, giving him a strong technical grounding that underpins his commercial leadership today.

He holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Geology and is a Fellow of The Geological Society.

Career Highlights

• Contributed to the early site investigations at Battersea Power Station prior to its redevelopment, supporting foundation inspections, geophysical investigations and deep borehole logging as part of one of London's most significant brownfield regeneration schemes
• Managed the UK's largest and most strategically important client accounts as Key Account Manager, integrating bespoke data management systems with client infrastructure
• Built technical expertise as a Senior Engineering Geologist, managing geotechnical and geoenvironmental site investigations from enquiry through to final report
• Led commercial strategy, driving revenue growth across environmental and geotechnical testing services
