About Element Columbia Laboratory

Element Columbia is an accredited wireless testing and certification laboratory in Columbia, Maryland. Former FCC engineers founded it in 1989 as PCTEST Columbia, now part of Element. The lab sits within walking distance of the FCC OET laboratory and about 30 minutes from Washington, D.C.

Over more than three decades, the lab grew from FCC regulatory testing into a specialist wireless facility. It supports smartphone, IoT, and connected-device makers across mobile, 4G LTE, 5G, and non-terrestrial network technologies, with capabilities spanning RF exposure, EMC, OTA, protocol, and certification testing.

Element Columbia also holds carrier authorizations for major US networks. It is a Verizon Wireless Authorized Test Facility for 4G/LTE, a DISH Third Party Authorized Laboratory for CallBox and SFN testing, a T-Mobile Third Party Approved Lab for 2G to 5G protocol, and a Skylo Authorized Laboratory.

The lab continues to invest in wireless test infrastructure for new cellular, IoT, and connected-device requirements.
